Cycling paths. Wine tasting. Gravel roads. Amazing food. Great coffee. Nature. History. Culture
My key words for a full Tuscan experience
My name is Stefano Elmi and I love traveling by bicycle.
I was born and raised in Barga (Tuscany). I then moved to Florence where I studied communications and journalism at the University and worked as freelance journalist and tour guide for different companies, becoming a qualified cycling guide. I then moved to London where I went deeper into journalism, attending a post-graduate course. After a period in Canada, I moved back to Tuscany.
I’ve done lots of bike-packing around Central and Eastern Europe and North and South America. From my greatest adventure: a solo trip from Calgary (Canada) to Homer (Alaska) I published a book for which I’m very proud : IN ALASKA FA CALDO the literally translation is IT’S WARM IN ALASKA

Tuscany is my backyard
Chianti and Siena area: Orcia valley, Strade bianche, L’Eroica. The Tuscan coast: Bolgheri and surroundings.
But Tuscany it’s not only rolling hills and vignards. On the Apennine and Apuan Alps, the mountains where I was born, you can discover tiny mountain villages, large beech trees forest, mountain huts and snowy peaks. That’s Garfagnana valley, the hidden part of Tuscany.
It will be a real pleasure leading you, your family and friends discovering my backyard by bicycle
